Meet the Governors

Nikki Jordan - Chair of Governors and Maths and English Lead Governor

Local Authority

Date Elected : 21/10/2016

End of Term : 20/10/2020

"I have been a governor at the school since 2013 and have been Chair of the Teaching, Learning and Care Committee (affectionately shortened to TLC!) for most of that time. I am also a member of both the Strategy and Personnel Committees.

My role as Chair of TLC involves leading the committee in discussions and decisions regarding school policies, aspects of safeguarding and curriculum subjects, as well as ensuring we have updates on the progress of year group cohorts in terms of their achievement and attainment. I hold a strong belief that there should be a challenge at every level for every child.

I am responsible for Maths and English from a governor role. This is an ever-changing aspect of the Primary Curriculum and there always seems to be something new or different to report on. This is particularly relevant when it comes to SEND and PPG .

I believe my skills and experience in being a Primary Teacher and an Early Years Consultant for the Local Authority enables me to be an effective member of the Governing Body and I am very much looking forward to being part of the school's future".

"I have been a governor since 2012 and became Chair of Governors in 2016.

Before having children, I worked for many years as a Senior Human Resources Manager for a large professional services firm. This role involved working strategically with the leaders of the business, 1:1 coaching, recruitment, managing the pay review process and performance management.

I now work part time for our family construction firm, where I take on all aspects of running the office and finances.

I believe that the knowledge and experience I have gained has given me a sound skill set enabling me to support and challenge the school in the setting and achievement of our strategic priorities and make a positive contribution to help the school thrive. ".

Date Elected : 10/09/2018

" My teaching career started at Theale Green School, where I taught Home Economics. I stayed there for four years and then left when I had my first child. I very much enjoyed being a mum, but while able to stay at home during the day, I taught adult evening classes, in the evening. I then taught at Norlands, the very prestigious nanny's training college. After 7 enjoyable years I retrained and became a primary school teacher. My first job was at Curridge Primary School. In 1996 the Head of Key Stage 1 role became available and I was lucky enough to get it. I was then given the role as Senior teacher and am still working in this special school today".
