High   quality   clubs   and   activities   are   an   important   part   of   our school   life.   Extra-curricular   activities   provide   an   opportunity for   children   to   enjoy   experiences   and   develop   skills   in   areas that   might   not   be   on   offer   in   the   usual   school   curriculum. They    are    an    excellent    way    to    foster    good    relationships between    staff,    pupils    and    parents.    They    develop    children’s social    skills    by    providing    a    forum    of    interaction    between children     across     different     ages.     Clubs     and     activities     are matched   to   our   staff’s   expertise   and   interests   and   make   the most   of   the   resources   we   have   in   our   school.      It   is   important that     children     experience     as     many     different     activities     as possible,   so   we   endeavour   to   provide   as   wide   and   varied   a range   of   clubs   as   we   can   -   we   tap   into   the   expertise   of   our parent   body   to   extend   the   range   of   clubs   on   offer.   In   some cases,   clubs   are   run   by   external   providers   who   make   a   charge for attendance. Once        children    have    joined    a    club    we    do    expect    them    to attend   regularly.   If   children   are   not   able   to   participate   in   the club   they   should   tell   the   member   of   staff   leading   the   club   as soon as possible.
